Timing for GNSS / Satellite Navigation Terminals

Survey-grade GNSS receivers, precision agriculture rovers, marine navigation and timing appliances all depend on an internal oscillator that, once locked, keeps the receiver's local clock disciplined to satellite time. When the antenna is obscured (urban canyon, forest, indoors), the internal oscillator's holdover determines how long the receiver keeps a valid position fix. The same oscillator drives the receiver's 1PPS output used by everything else in the system.
